Specialist Joinery Services

Athena Joinery and Renovations provides bespoke joinery services, manufacturing premium products at their workshop on York Road Industrial Estate in Malton.

With almost 25 years’ experience in the joinery trade, business owner Lee Rudd and his team of qualified and experienced joiners are passionate about renovation and refurbishment work; bringing a new lease of life to old properties by retaining their character and traditional features.

The specialist team strive to maintain traditional service and skills whilst keeping up to date with contemporary methods and design. Athena undertakes all aspects of bespoke joinery including on-site carpentry, solid wood flooring, kitchens, bespoke porches and oak frames. Athena’s range of sash and casement windows replicate timeless designs down to the finest detail, with traditional cords, sash weights and furniture to suit. Well-designed and built external doors enhance any property.

Lee believes that communication is the key to getting each project perfect for his customers. He said: “Every job is different, so we aim to develop an open and honest relationship with our customers.”

Athena is also keen to support the next generation of joiners, and currently employs two apprentices; Katie is focussing on spraying and finishing, and Bradley has almost finished his course at York College. Lee said: “Dave McBurnie, our workshop foreman, is a highly skilled bench joiner with over 25 years’ experience. It is fantastic that he is keen to pass on his knowledge and expertise. Dave is ably assisted by experienced bench joiner Jonathan and Bradley. Danny is training Katie in the spraying and finishing department. Our site fitters are a mix of in-house employees Anthony and Matthew. We also use a couple of experienced quality sub contractors to help us out when needed.”
