A word from the Chairman

The days are getting shorter, but the list of activities and entertainment at The Hall is longer than ever!
Our new activities co-ordinator, Sandy, has made fabulous additions to our packed schedule, and our residents are spoiled for choice. As well as our regular social activities, residents enjoyed a spooky Halloween and a reflective and respectful Remembrance Day. The autumn-themed events will quickly make way for our Christmas celebrations, which everyone is getting excited about already.

The Hall needs you!

Are you recycling your reading material, boxing up your books or making room in your magazine rack? If so, we want to hear from you. We’re creating a modest library at The Hall for the ladies and gents to enjoy a broader range of reading and relaxation. If you have books or magazines going spare, we’ll give them a new home. We’re also arranging coffee morning outings, to which friends and family are welcome. If you’re interested in joining us, please get in touch.

Autumnal events

Sandy organized entertaining, autumn-themed events for our residents. There’s been a scavenger hunt, and our residents have used their artistic talents making story-stone art. The stones are now outside, arranged in the shape of a large poppy as the centrepiece of our Remembrance Day display.

Our artistic ladies and gents also made the Remembrance Day decorations that are on display around The Hall. Here is Eddie, Jean and, Susan hard at work using their painting skills. There was also a movie & music quiz where the residents sang along and there was even some dancing!

We created a harvest display, the showpiece of which was a pumpkin grown by one of our green-fingered residents, Edward. It was as delicious as it was beautiful!

We want to say a big thank you to the children from Thornton Le Dale Primary School, who have resumed their regular visits to The Hall. These visits had been greatly missed. To see the children’s smiling faces again brings welcome joy to our residents.
