2020 has been tough for the York Against Cancer team, but they’re fighting back as the UK begins to get back to ‘normal’.
As lockdown measures continue to ease, YAC is looking forward to a bumper calendar of fundraising events throughout the autumn. Whether you’re a volunteer, family member of a patient or a local business, you can get involved to raise these crucial funds. Events will take place from October, with careful considerations for social distancing.
Golf Day
Tee up with the YAC team on Wednesday 7th October for the annual Golf Day. Taking place at York Golf Club in Strensall from 11am, the event continues to be a roaring success year after year. In 2019, YAC managed to raise a record-breaking £14,600, thanks to the generous donations of keen players and spectators.
Please come along and support this year’s event – you can sign up at https://www.yorkagainstcancer.org.uk/events/golf-day-2020 or call 01904 764466 for an entry form.
Awareness Day & Street Collection
Following on from the monumental success of 2019, the YAC Awareness Day has now become an annual event. The whole YAC team will congregate in St Sampson’s Square (outside Brown’s) on Saturday 10th October from 10am. Here you’ll find staff and volunteers, who will be only too happy to tell you all about the amazing work that YAC is doing. They’ll also be collecting donations, so please give generously.
Want to give more than cash? You can also take part in the Awareness Day to help YAC spread its message even further. Just give the team a call on 01904 764466. They look forward to seeing you there!
Saint Crux Sale
Get ready to indulge in a little retail therapy with YAC’s annual sale of books, bric a brac and refreshments. This year’s event will take place at the St Crux Church (next to Whip Ma Whop Ma Gate, near Marks and Spencer). Feel free to come along and take a look at the latest collection of goodies, or indulge in a slice of cake.
Even better, if you’d like to volunteer for this year’s sale or bake a cake for the team, please call 01904 764466 or email office@yorkagainstcancer.co.uk.
