Britain’s last surviving railway nursery

by Handymag

Poppleton Community Railway Nursery is a volunteer-run charity which offers therapeutic activities in a horticultural setting to a range of people recovering from different health needs.

The Nursery will be holding Saturday morning sales from 10am-1pm on 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th May. The site has features which will interest both railway enthusiasts and gardeners. You will find a wide variety of plants including shrubs, perennials, herbs and alpines and also houses a specialist collection of cacti.

There will also be a Nursery plant stall to visit at Poppleton Sports Day on Bank Holiday Monday 27th May.

The Nursery is open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10am-3.30pm throughout the year. Why not call in and see what the Nursery has to offer, meet volunteers and help support our worthwhile local charity.
