Britain’s Tastiest 10K

On Sunday 19 September, the Marathon du Malton returns to Yorkshire’s Food Capital. Starting and finishing in Malton’s Market Place, the event combines local gourmet food and drink with a 10K route around the North Yorkshire countryside.

Taking inspiration from the Marathon du Medoc in France’s wine region, the event is open to everyone—seasoned runners, first-time fun-runners, and enthusiastic walkers alike—and all participants are encouraged to soak up the party atmosphere and enjoy the wide selection of award-winning local produce as they proceed around the course.

At intervals throughout the race, participants will be able to sample award-winning beer from Malton Brewery, roast beef and Yorkshire puddings from The Cook’s Place, macarons from Malton’s very own Master Pâtissier Florian Poirot, and more of Yorkshire’s finest specialities.

Tom Naylor-Leyland, Director of Visit Malton, said: “We’re so excited to see the return of the Marathon Du Malton this September. The past year or so has been tough for everybody so it will be great to see the town unite and create a party atmosphere once again!”

There is a programme of live music and food and drink for spectators to enjoy.

Tickets can be booked at and start at £25 with a small booking fee. Registration for the “Elite” race closes on Saturday 18 September. Tickets are no longer available for the “Classique” and “Escargot” races.
