Bubble Rush, the fun run through coloured bubbles, has announced a partnership with end-of-life charity Marie Curie: the funds raised at fifteen events, throughout 2021, will help the charity care for people living with a terminal illness and their families.
The partnership includes the forthcoming Bubble Rush event at Knavesmire, York, on Saturday 7 August; and funds from the event will support the charity’s local nursing team.
Bubble Rush is a fun run, for all ages and abilities. Organisers do not time the events, and each course is pushchair- and wheelchair-friendly. There are four “bubble stations” around the two-lap, 5K, course, and participants can choose to either run or walk.
At the events, participants will have opportunities to donate to Marie Curie’s nursing service and information and support service, and volunteers will encourage them to do so. In addition, local businesses can sponsor bubble stations and other elements of the course.
Proceeds from all sponsorship income and fundraising will go directly to the charity.
Organisers have planned the Bubble Rush events to ensure that they operate in a Covid-safe way, in line with guidance issued by the Government and the events industry. There will be provision for social-distancing and enhanced hygiene measures. And further to that, the plans have been audited in line with the events industry’s “Safe Event Scheme.”
