One of Europe’s most-loved stately homes will open its doors on Saturday 2nd of April, marking the beginning of another exciting season for the Estate.

In addition, an annual events programme boasting the likes of Duran Duran, The Chemical Brothers, and the iconic Proms weekend in August. The Estate will also host a range of added-value events for visitors keen to make the most of their tickets. From their annual Festival of Dogs in May, Jubilee celebrations and new exhibitions, their events schedule is yet to release full announcements for summer, Halloween, and Christmas – a core experience for families in and around York every year.
This is the first time Castle Howard has been able to publish a detailed events schedule after two years of uncertainty for the sector has meant many heritage and cultural attractions dialled back their offerings or had to cancel experiences altogether.
2022 is set to be a year to remember though as more than 260,000 visitors descend on the 9,000-acre Estate throughout the year. The House opening, allowing people to explore three-hundred-years of architectural history and elegant interiors was one of the famed locations for Brideshead Revisited and season one of Netflix’s Bridgerton. Their Gardens and parkland is among the most beautiful in Yorkshire and the Estate resides within the Howardian Hills (an AONB) and close to the North York Moors Park.
Visitors can experience the House from the 2nd April until 31st of October 2022 with more exciting announcements regarding their Winter events coming soon.
