Claire’s Ryedale Ramble

by Handy Mag

to raise funds for Ryedale Carers Support

This year, the Chief Officer of Ryedale Carers Support, Claire Hall, will have been working for this local charity for an impressive 30 years. To mark this milestone, and to raise funds, Claire is doing a 91 mile sponsored walk around the edge of Ryedale over the course of a week—that’s the same as 7 half marathons!

Claire says: “To highlight the loneliness and isolation often experienced in this beautiful but rural area, I will be walking around the edge of Ryedale District. I will leave from Kirkbymoorside on the 8th May and return there on Wednesday 15th May, in time for a well-earned bacon butty at the Next Steps Community Café.’

Claire would love to see you at one of her ‘pit stops’:

Wednesday 8 May 10am at Kirkbymoorside Methodist Church

Friday 10 May 3.30pm outside Malton Relish, Malton Market Place

Monday 13 May 1pm at Pickering Library

Wednesday 15 May 11.30am at Kirkbymoorside Methodist Church

Claire is looking forward to a week of sunny days and glorious views, but as you know, Yorkshire is always full of surprises!

Whatever the weather, you’ll be able to follow Claire’s progress on our social media channels and she will be on Radio York on the first and last days of the walk itself.

Ryedale Carers Support is a local voluntary organisation and registered charity. The charity provides social and emotional support to carers, the people they care for and people living on their own.
