Many men, once they have retired, miss the stimulation and company of work, not to mention the frequent cups of tea or coffee. The Ebor Probus Club of York came into being in 1973 to provide a thought-provoking meeting point for men who had retired, or semi-retired from a business or profession, where something of interest could be learned while making friends with others in similar circumstances.
The Club meetings provide an opportunity to socialise over a cup of tea or coffee for an hour, followed by another hour when we have speakers on a wide variety of subjects. The Club has an annual subscription, which, currently amounts to about £3 per visit.
We meet on alternate Wednesdays between September and June, 9.30am until 11.30am, in the Church Hall of Edward The Confessor church, Tadcaster Road, Dringhouses, York YO24 1QG
