with Anne Little Fitness
This year, Anne Little Fitness will be offering a range of fitness classes in Helmsley that aim to help older adults and those wanting to get back into fitness keep active while having fun.
Anne will run Clinical Pilates classes for absolute beginners and mixed abilities, meditation and mindfulness classes and ZUMBA Gold – a favourite with clients.
Exercise without worries
Anne says “I love getting people more active and prolonging health and wellbeing into later life. I specialise in physical activity for older adults and returners to fitness.”
With over 30 years’ experience as a teacher and practitioner, Anne brings a wealth of skills to every class. She has meticulously adapted her programmes, so everyone who joins will benefit not just from the exercise, but also her specialist knowledge and experience.
Aside from teaching, Anne has lectured and researched in physical health, so you’ll be in capable hands when it comes to starting your fitness journey and keeping fit as an older adult. She’ll ensure the exercise is right for you.
“Do you want to loosen up? Feel stronger? Improve your balance? And feel fitter?”
Clinical Pilates is an incredible form of exercise for older adults. It can help alleviate common problems, including hip, back and knee pain, through stretching and strengthening.
And when it comes to Zumba Gold, Anne explains how ‘it’s a lovely form of dance exercise for older adults and returners to fitness. Class members describe it as an exercise in disguise!’
Furthermore, with Anne’s expertise, she can help everyone – no matter their age – to reach their goal. Unlike general fitness classes, her classes are limited to small numbers, which allows time for one-to-one tuition and attention. So, if anyone comes with a specific problem, ache or pain, Anne can tailor the exercises for everyone’s abilities and needs.
A welcoming and friendly environment
“I want everyone to feel relaxed and comfortable. I like to create a space that’s friendly and sociable, where people can come to not only exercise but also have fun!” explains Anne.
Classes are designed to be a focal point for the community to gather, catch up and improve fitness levels together. There’s no pressure – it’s a laid-back environment where you can enjoy exercising with a group of like-minded people.
Anne is also keen to work with local exercise teachers to help develop provision in the area.
