On Sunday 22 August, the Joseph Rowntree Theatre will host a very special summer garden party in a secluded private garden in Stockton-on-the-Forest.
Tickets, priced at £12 per person, will provide guests with tea and scones, accompanied by live entertainment from last year’s Yorkshire’s Got Talent winner, Edward Atkin.
Attendees will also have a chance to speak to volunteers about the forthcoming season’s programme, and about current opportunities to be involved in running York’s amazing art deco, volunteer-run venue—the Joseph Rowntree Theatre.
Dan Shrimpton, Chair of Trustees of the theatre, said: “We know that this party will bring together lots of our current volunteers, as well as provide an opportunity for those who aren’t currently very familiar with the theatre to find out more about what we do and what shows are coming to the venue over the next few months.”
The garden party is a fundraiser for the theatre, which is currently looking to raise money to fix its leaky roofs.
The garden was used last summer as the venue for three sold-out, outdoor, socially-distanced performances of Badapple Theatre Company’s Suffer Fools Gladly.
With ample space, the garden is the ideal setting for a summer garden party. Scones are being generously provided by local caterer Alatarte; and a choice of teas will be available, too.
Tickets for the event can be purchased via the theatre’s website and are expected to sell out very quickly, given their limited availability.
