A word from our chairman:

In the blink of an eye, we have passed the halfway mark on what has already been a truly magnificent 2024.

We have hosted some amazing events and celebrated several special occasions, welcoming family and friends throughout.

In June, our residents were joined by family and friends for some Father’s Day celebrations. We always make a fuss on special days of the year and Father’s Day is no exception!

We also marked the 80th anniversary of D-day. Our residents gathered to honour and remember the brave souls of that pivotal day in history. Sharing personal stories and reflections, they paid tribute to the courage and sacrifices that shaped the world. It was a poignant, moving day filled with respect and remembrance.

A Garden Makeover

Just a year ago, we unveiled our wellbeing garden, which has been beautifully maintained by our dedicated resident-led garden group ever since.

During a recent outing to the Steam and Moorland Garden Centre, our residents chose a vibrant array of plants including petunias, curry plants, chives, lavender, and thyme. With great care and enthusiasm, these beautiful plants were tenderly nestled into our wellbeing garden. It is always heartwarming to watch the garden burst into a kaleidoscope of colours, bringing smiles and a sense of pride to everyone involved.

Ice cream in the sun

In another exciting afternoon out, our residents enjoyed a scenic walk to Balderson Café, a real favourite.

Along the way, they admired the local scenery, pointing out blooming flowers and singing birds. The highlight of the visit was indulging in some delicious ice cream, a perfect treat to cool down with on a sunny day.

It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to relax, chat, and soak in the beautiful surroundings, as well as sharing laughs and stories.
