A Word from Our Chairman
After an exciting Christmas and start to the year, we have already returned to our familiar routine at The Hall. Our activities programme is quickly filling up.
As we move into 2023, we will maintain our strong relationships with the local community, and look forward to establishing new ones throughout the year. These bonds bring joy to our residents, many of which are friendships established over 10 years ago.
On behalf of everyone at The Hall, I want to thank the families and friends of residents who visited our home over the festive and new year period. Special, new memories were made that will last a lifetime.

A Month Full of Knitting
Last month saw the return of Knit and Natter, a very popular group that convened on a weekly basis before Lockdown. Now residents are delighted to be back knitting or crocheting, while nattering about the various hot topics of the day and sharing local gossip. All while enjoying plenty of cups of tea and “the good biscuits!”
A recent, generous donation of needles, crochet hooks and small lap rugs from the Crafty Hubbers was welcomed by everyone at The Hall. We are grateful to the group who provided residents with the tools necessary to resume this popular activity.
Wise Owl Presiding Over the Garden
We have been delighted to welcome back the children of Thornton Le Dale Primary School. They joined us in constructing Wise Owl—a huge fabrication of feathers—who resides on the wall opposite the doors to the garden. We consider the piece to be a work of art.
Wise Owl is another example of our range of intergenerational activities, which bring together our residents and children from the local community. He is feeling at home in our garden, and we look forward to the warmer months when residents can sit outside and admire their creation.
