Malton in Bloom is delighted to announce that it has won the Golden Rose Award for the Best Entry in Yorkshire at the Yorkshire in Bloom Awards Ceremony, held on Thursday 24 September.
Last year, Malton in Bloom won the Best Entry in North Yorkshire, earning the opportunity to compete against the winners from West, East and South Yorkshire.
On Thursday, Malton in Bloom was crowned overall champion.
The town’s beautifully stocked floral displays have looked magnificent throughout the year, flourishing in the glorious summer sunshine.
This success is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the organisation’s volunteers, who work tirelessly year-round, often behind the scenes, maintaining floral beds, growing plants, deadheading flowers, litter picking, and carrying out many other essential tasks.
The Chair of Yorkshire in Bloom made special mention of the group’s waterer, Gillian, whose efforts helped keep the displays thriving throughout the long, dry summer.
In their report, the judges also praised the cleanliness of the town. Thanks were therefore extended to Town Ranger Steve, the Malton and Norton Tidy Group, and Streetscene for their contributions.
Malton in Bloom would like to thank all its supporters and generous donors whose help has made this achievement possible.
Anyone interested in joining the award-winning team is invited to contact Tim Hicks at deputy.clerk@malton-tc.gov.uk.
