2023 marks the centenary of New Earswick Cricket Club and they are holding a series of celebratory events over the summer culminating in a day of cricket, live music and food on Saturday 16th September for all those with a current or past association with the club.  It starts at 2pm and tickets can be bought at Eventbrite.

The club has two adult teams playing in Divisions 2 & 3 of Yorkshire Premier League North and a mid-week team playing in the Foss Evening League.  The club re-started its junior section after around 15 years of not having one with the inaugural All Stars programme followed by Dynamos when that kicked off.  The club now has over 80 children playing cricket from All Stars and Dynamos and fields two U9 teams and U11 and U13 hardball teams in the York Junior Cricket League.

Additionally, they also have an embryonic women’s team which is made up of predominantly the mothers of the junior players who were introduced to cricket at All Stars with the parent involvement. There are 9 fully qualified coaches with a number of support workers with the Club achieving Clubmark status last year.

Recent improvements have seen a two-lane all-weather net installed this year for which we gratefully received funding from the ECB.  We have added two new sightscreens, so we have two at each end, improved changing rooms, scoring facilities and the playing surface.  In recognition of the improvement to the facilities we are now hosting a number of junior representative games each season.
