After a long battle to save it, the Norton and Malton Skatepark has opened once again.
Campaigners, led by Ryan Swain, have worked hard to refurbish the park and now it’s ready for use including a couple of new ramps.
There is still work to be done to get the iconic halfpipe up and running but Ryan says he’s delighted that the safety inspection by RoSPA gave the all clear. He said: “I’m excited to seeing all generations flood through the gates to use the facility once again.
“They were very complimentary, which means it’s now officially open and everyone can use it. Which is going to be great in the summer for all generations to come and use it and enjoy it.”
“The next step is to out Norton and Malton well and truly on the map within the action sports community by repairing the halfpipe once and for all.”
