PenLife Associates, Independent Chartered Financial Planners, based in York were delighted to present a cheque for £10,450 to local charity, Dementia Forward.
All 29 PenLife employees played a part in the fundraising exploits including surviving Tough Mudder, hosting a bake sale, creating a PenLife Snack Box, playing charity poker, organising Spud Lunch Club and selling jars of honey – care of PenLife’s Financial Adviser/Bee Keeper, Warwick Ivel.
PenLife were first introduced to Dementia Forward at the beginning of 2019 when Fiona Andrews from Dementia Forward gave an insight into the hands-on help and support the charity provides to both those with dementia and their carers. Overwhelmed by the positive way the charity supports those affected, PenLife voted Dementia Forward as their chosen charity for 2019.
As soon as the £5,000 target was hit at the end of 2019, Directors Julie Wilson and Andrew Richardson very generously matched the amount raised with a further £5,000. Julie spoke at the presentation, ‘One of Dementia Forward’s aims is to ‘knit’ dementia support into the everyday lives of the local community so that people can continue to live well in their own communities. We are thrilled that our donation will help the charity to do this and make life more enjoyable for those affected and their carers.’
A delighted Fiona from Dementia Forward said, ‘PenLife have been absolutely fantastic. From day one, they have put their hearts and souls into fundraising, and we cannot thank them enough for the huge amount they have raised. We would love all local firms to follow PenLife’s lead and support a local charity – the funds raised make such a difference.’
Andrew Richardson, Director at PenLife added, ‘We would like to take this opportunity to thank our clients who have very kindly donated to this fantastic charity, we really couldn’t have done it without their help.’
