Poppleton Village Show 2026
22/05/2026

At Upper Poppleton Green on 15th August, 12.30 – 4pm.

The Poppleton Village Show has a long history. The Ancient Free Garden Society was formed in 1839 and was still going strong in 1877 and the records show a vegetable and flower show in the Red Lion in 1890. In the late 1920’s the Poppleton branch of the Women’s Institute organised a flower, vegetable, fruit and handicrafts show.

In 1958 the Poppleton Garden Guild was formed, buying seeds and compost in bulk and passing the savings on to the members and the first Garden Guild Show was held in August 1959 and the show carried on till 2015, when the Guild closed and the Village Show started.
