RSPCA York—Fundraising

by Editorial Team

Last year was obviously a challenging year for everyone, and the York Animal Home was no different. Despite the challenges posed by lockdown, however, we were able to keep rescuing hundreds of animals in need and find them their new forever homes.

As an independent charity, we are responsible for raising all our own funding, and we rely very heavily on money raised from events and in person collections. Sadly, the lockdown has made this type of fundraising impossible and put the charity in a tricky financial position. Our fundraising volunteers are the backbone of the York Animal Home, and the money raised each year is attributable to their amazing work. We’re looking for new volunteers to come on board and help with our fundraising activities; in particular, we’re looking for volunteers who will be able to help with our digital and online fundraising.

As the weather is improving, we’re also hoping to encourage people to take part in our fitness challenges; that is, by setting yourself a fitness challenge and getting people to sponsor you. It’s one of the easiest ways to help raise money for the animal home, and it’s perfect for those who want to get fit, raise money, and stay active.
