Ryedale Lions are delighted to announce another fantastic result for their Santa’s Sleigh collections and events. Local Charities will benefit from a final sum of just under £12,000 very close to last year’s record figure.

Lions President, Frank Hayward, said “This is an amazing total in what are very difficult times with the issues in the economy and the problems they are causing. We would like to thank everyone who donated on one of our outings and assure people that the funds will be spent on good causes”
Ryedale Lions have already committed £500 to each of Kirkbymoorside Library Volunteers, SASH, St Catherine’s Hospice, Thornton le Dale Squash Club and Helmsley Beaver Scouts who all provided teams to help with collections.
Sleigh Organiser, Ben Hayes, added “ We do over 20 outings with the sleigh and are increasingly dependent on volunteers and organisations to help man each trip. Anyone interested in being an elf next year can contact us through the details on our website www.ryedalelions.org .
Lions President Frank said, “ We want to thank all the volunteer collectors who helped spread the pleasure that Santa’s Sleigh brings and the growing number of businesses that sponsored the runs. We are already looking forward and planning for Christmas 2023 so this fabulous tradition can continue.”
