Christmas Holds Warm Memories of People we Love
Christmas can be a very reflective and moving time of year as your thoughts turn to your loved ones, who are sadly absent throughout this special season. Once again this year we invite you, your family, and your friends to remember and celebrate those exceptional people that brought light to your lives.
By choosing to dedicate a light on our ‘Light up a Life’ trees in memory of a loved one, or as a gift commemorating a friend or relative, you are not only remembering them but also helping support and fund all the good work St Leonard’s Hospice does within the community.
Those you are dedicating a light to do not have to have been cared for by the Hospice: It is a chance for everyone to remember those special people and celebrate their lives. It also gives those who have lost loved ones during the coronavirus pandemic the opportunity to remember them.
Four Christmas trees in St Helen’s Square, York, Selby Abbey, the Hospice grounds, and Easingwold Market Place will all bear hundreds of twinkling lights — each one representing the life of someone special. You can also choose to dedicate a light on our virtual tree on the Hospice’s website.
Each name will be recorded in our Book of Honour which will be placed in the Sanctuary at the Hospice, Selby Abbey and Easingwold Methodist Church.
