Stronger for Life with Anne Little Fitness
21/08/2026

September is often seen as a fresh start. As routines return after the summer months, it’s the perfect time to reset health and wellbeing goals and establish positive habits that can make a lasting difference.

For Anne Little Fitness, based near Helmsley, the focus this autumn is on helping adults build strength, improve mobility and support their long-term health through safe, effective and enjoyable exercise.

With more than 32 years of experience teaching health and fitness, Anne offers a range of welcoming classes designed specifically for adults. Her approach is centred on helping people stay active, maintain independence and improve their quality of life, regardless of age or fitness level.

This September, Anne is placing a particular emphasis on strength training, especially for women in their late 40s and beyond. While walking is excellent for cardiovascular health and mental wellbeing, it does not fully address the natural loss of muscle mass that occurs as we age. Strength-based exercise helps maintain bone health, improve balance and posture, reduce the risk of falls and make everyday tasks easier.

“As we get older, building and maintaining strength becomes one of the most important things we can do for our health,” says Anne. “It’s about future-proofing your body so you can continue doing the activities you love for years to come.”

Alongside physical fitness, Anne is also championing mindfulness as a practical tool for reducing stress, anxiety and chronic pain. Qualified with Breathworks, delivering NHS-approved Mindfulness for Stress programmes and currently completing an MSc in Mindfulness at Bangor University, Anne helps people develop healthier habits and a more positive relationship with movement.

Anne’s popular Pilates classes focus on stretching within individual limitations while improving balance, flexibility and core strength. Participants learn to better understand their bodies and reduce the risk of injury.

For those looking for a fun way to exercise, Zumba Gold provides a low-impact workout that builds stamina while being kind to the joints. Anne also offers seated exercise classes, ensuring people with mobility concerns can enjoy the benefits of regular physical activity in a safe and supportive environment.

Anne is launching a new Monday afternoon Dance and Tone class at The Pavilion, Helmsley, from September.
