A word from our chairman

The countdown to Christmas is underway as we begin to gear up for the festive period.

We’re looking forward to welcoming friends and family to The Hall, for what we hope will be a special Christmas for all.
We will soon be approaching the shortest day of the year, but despite the darker afternoons, our regular social activities schedule continues to provide a diverse range of events, which last month included a reflective and respectful Remembrance Day. One trip we are particularly looking forward to is our festive day out to Irton Garden centre, where we can all take in the festive cheer and enjoy some Christmas treats in the build up to the special day!

One for the taste buds

Over the past month, our residents have been busy putting their taste buds to good use, which started off with a coffee morning, trying various flavours, including Irish coffee, mochas, and cappuccinos.

For many of our residents, the coffee morning was seen as the warmup event for the wine and cheese tasting experience.
Residents enjoyed sampling pinot grigio, rose and merlot wines, which included a taste of stilton, brie, and Gloucester cheese on the side. It was lovely to see everyone spend some quality time together and share some memories over a delicious glass of red. Those not too keen on drinking wine, were happy to crack open a diverse range of traditional ales.

Spooky season

Our residents will find any excuse to play a bit of bingo, even with a Halloween spin to it. We may not have had a Halloween party, but pumpkins were carved, and spooky gifts were there to be won for those who took part in the bingo.
