TransPennine Express Offer Later Malton Train Service for Meadowfest Attendees

by Handy Mag

On Saturday 31 July, music lovers and foodie aficionados will return to Malton for the second instalment of Meadowfest—the town’s boutique summer music festival, set in the beautiful riverside meadows and gardens of The Talbot Hotel.

Main Stage headliners The Lightning Seeds will be supported by some of Yorkshire’s best talent, including The Y Street Band, Ben Beattie’s After Midnight Band, Flatcap Carnival, Hyde Family Jam and ‘The UK’s maddest party band’ HUGE!

In support of the popular festival, TransPennine Express has announced that it will hold the 21:58 service for 10 minutes to allow festivalgoers travelling by train to enjoy the headline act.

The delay to the train’s departure should not impact connection times.

Graham Meiklejohn, Head of Regional Development at TransPennine Express, said: “We hope that, by allowing an extra ten minutes at Malton station, we will support Meadowfest attendees who have chosen to travel by train and ensure that they can get home safely”.
