Dreaming of a whiter, brighter smile and thinking of combining it with 2 weeks in the sun? My advice simply put is DON’T. Glossy websites promoting fabulous gnashers in 2 weeks are selling something that generally doesn’t exist.
Our profession is seeing a steady stream of patients whose mouths have been mutilated by dentists practicing overseas who are not prepared to put right any problems often when the patient is still on holiday, and certainly not when patients go home.
Personally I’ve had patients attend as emergencies because their gums are ‘a bit sore’ after they had their new teeth done. When I examined them the crowns and veneers had glue between them and it was impossible to clean in between the teeth. So their gums were a bleeding, smelly, infected mess underneath their shiny new teeth.
The solution is to remove and redo the work to a good standard. In some cases the patient is stuck with their mutilated mouth as the work cannot be undone.
If you fancy a whiter smile speak to your dentist. It might be more time consuming and costly but at least you can return easily if there is a problem.
Quick fixes are rarely a solution so my advice is keep your holidays for relaxation not time in the dental chair!
