A portrait photography exhibition
A photographic portrait exhibition of women, chosen for their contribution to the life of the town, will take place at Kirkbymoorside Methodist Church in March. It is timed to coincide with the UN International Women’s Day 2023 and is a celebration of the wide range of groups and individuals who enrich our community life.

As members and leaders of most of the town’s community, social and cultural organisations, Kirkbymoorside women use their knowledge, skills and experiences to make our community the place that it is.
Exhibition hosts, Kirkbymoorside Methodist Church, provide facilities and support for some of the town’s community organisations throughout the week, all managed and run by women. They have encouraged this initiative to celebrate and promote the invaluable role of women in our town, as so much of what they do is understated, unpaid and sometimes taken for granted. This project aims to redress that and in so doing encourage others, whatever their gender, to get involved and make their contribution to improve the lives of all.
A book of the portraits, available to order at the exhibition, will provide a legacy and testament to the work of these women.
The organisers are grateful to Ryedale Council for supporting this initiative. Free Entry.
