York’s favourite festive event—Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland—is back!

by Editorial Team

Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland, the popular outdoor ice rink, vintage funfair and Santa’s Grotto, returns to York Designer Outlet from Friday 19th November to Sunday 9th January.

The Ice Factor—the North of England’s largest outdoor ice rink at 975m2—will once again have a 30ft high sparkling Christmas tree as its centrepiece. Surrounded by illuminated trees, log cabins, the cafe and a viewing platform, this magical setting makes for the perfect festive experience for all ages.

Overlooking the ice rink is The Chalet, a cosy alpine-themed café and an ideal spot to warm up after a session on the ice or to watch the skaters glide past.

The vintage funfair features rides from the 1930s golden era of fairgrounds. Speed and thrills await on the Speedway, Dodgems or Chair-o-Plane, while Muffin the Mule and Hush Hush the Train will delight children, as will the game stalls offering prizes every time.

Christmas would not be the same without a visit to Santa and his elves. Follow the path through the snowy enchanted woodland to find his log cabin and collect a special gift.

Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland is free to enter, with separate tickets required for skating at The Ice Factor and Santa’s Grotto. Tickets for a one-hour skate cost £11.50 for adults and £10.50 for children and concessions. Family tickets, parent and toddler tickets and special packages for parties, schools and clubs are also available. Discount applies to groups of 20+. Santa’s Grotto costs £5 per child with a £1 family booking fee. Tokens for the funfair available on site at £3 per person per ride. For bookings (fees apply) and details visit
